Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the UbuntuRN mobile app and website. By creating an account or using UbuntuRN, you agree to these Terms. If you download the app through the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
What UbuntuRN is — and isn't
UbuntuRN is a study aid for nursing students: lessons, NCLEX-style practice questions, progress tracking, and a student community. It is an educational supplement, not medical advice, clinical guidance, or a substitute for your nursing program, licensed instruction, or professional judgment. Never rely on UbuntuRN content for actual patient care decisions. We work hard on accuracy but do not guarantee that content is error-free, and passing the NCLEX or any exam is not guaranteed.
Your account
You must be at least 13 years old and provide accurate account information. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Subscription and billing
- UbuntuRN Premium starts with a 1-month free trial, then costs $5.99/month unless prices change, which we'll communicate in advance.
- Billing is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your subscription auto-renews monthly until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling during the trial means you're never charged; cancelling later stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Community rules
UbuntuConnect exists so nursing students can rise together. When posting, messaging, or joining study sessions, you agree not to:
- Harass, bully, or discriminate against other users;
- Post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or spam;
- Share exam content you're bound to keep confidential (e.g., actual NCLEX questions), or facilitate academic dishonesty;
- Share another person's private information without consent;
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules. You keep ownership of content you post, and grant us a license to host and display it within the service.
Our content
Lessons, questions, rationales, branding, and the app itself belong to UbuntuRN or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own studying. Don't scrape, resell, or redistribute our content.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
UbuntuRN is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the same extent, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Termination
You can stop using UbuntuRN and delete your account at any time from profile settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll update the date above and notify you in the app; continued use after changes means you accept them.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
